THE PROBLEM: The owner had concrete work done which generated considerable rocky soil and stone spoil—about a 60-40 mix—terrible stuff. Worse, he did not want to haul anything away nor import good fill. Worse yet, he had no vision of what he wanted the end result to look like.
THE SOLUTION: After considerable thought, the area was graded in a manner which eliminated the need to haul away either rock or bad soil, the design allowed utilization of all materials, and the finished surface is grassed. As a bonus, the mini-excavator removed a troublesome stump while on the job. The end result: the area looks great and the owner is happy.
- Bad soil, no design-inspiration continues.
- The design is started.
- The design begins to emerge.
- Design continues to emerge – rocks become omitted part of the fill.
- Great surface and design, rocks are hidden.
- The mighty-mini gets into tight places to do big work.
